Mathematica has thousands of uses and applications. It can be used to do tasks from quickly solving a set of linear equations to graphically representing some of the most complex differential systems. Mathematica can be used as:
- a numerical and symbolic calculator
- a means to visualize functions and data
- a high-level programming language
- a modeling and data analysis tool
- a program for creating interactive documents
Invoking
Mathematica is part of the mathematica module. Several versions of Mathematica are available for users to select using the module swap command.
Multiple versions of Mathematica are are available under modules: mathematica/3.0 and mathematica/4.0.
Type mathematica in a command line to start Mathematica.
